LSRC travels to a Re-Union in Ann Arbor
Last Wednesday a caravan of about 15 LSRC members travelled to Ann Arbor for the re-dedication of the Student Union on the campus of the University of Michigan for a special dinner, music and speaker John Hewko, General Secretary & Executive Officer of Rotary International Rotary Club of Kyiv, Ukraine

The Rotary Club of Ann Arbor returned to its historic home, the newly refurbished Michigan Union Rotarians from District 6380, 6400 and surrounding districts. Community leaders, spouses and friends were welcomed for an evening with music, dinner and John Hewko’s inspiring words about “Why Rotary Matters”.

Hewko oversees the executive staff who manage operations at Rotary International World Headquarters, including member services and programs, finances, technology, development, strategy and legal services. He is a renowned and much sought after international speaker.

Below is John Hewko posing with our exchange students Gabi and Elias. To the right they are with Don "Sparky" Leonard our District 6380 Governor. And at the bottom, the Beebees enjoy dinner, music and other Rotarians.

Lunch Tuesdays with Your Rotary Family in HOWELL
TUESDAYs in FEBRUARY (the 18th & 25th)  join your fellow Rotarians for lunch at Aubree's Pizzeria & Grill at 4433 E Grand River Ave. in Howell. We will gather at noon to talk about a variety of interesting topics!

Come on out for some great food, good conversation (check the link above for menu choices...) and quality time with your Rotary family so you can get to know one another a little bit better. Last week we had a full house with eight, which is great!

There's room at the table for YOU, so mark your calendars as a reminder.

Our German exchange student shared these photos with us. This is Elias Stich (center above) at the VOSH/International mission trip. Standing next to him is a man from the local Parliament as they tour Our Lady of Fatima Primary School.

To the right, Elias is handing out soccer balls (generously provided and decorated by LSRC members) to schoolchildren. VOSH/Int'l stands for Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity/International.

Children are touching Elias' arms to find out if it feels different from their own skin.

Below, the children begin a soccer game. There are approximately 2,500 kids at this primary school.
