If you consider yourself a young adult age 18 or older, read on! In the May issue of The Rotarian magazine, which landed in your mailbox recently, there is a great article about exciting changes for Rotaract membership starting 12:01 am June 30. See pp. 47-53. Rotaract Clubs bring together people ages 18-30 to exchange ideas with leaders in the community, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun through service. In communities worldwide, Rotary and Rotaract members work side by side to take action through service. From big cities to rural villages, Rotaract is changing communities like yours No longer is there an upper age limit of 30. You can be a young adult, as you choose to identify yourself, at any age. A new Rotaract Club can form without sponsorship of a Rotary Club. Rotaractors are encouraged to serve on District and Rotary International committees. Dues will be $8 a year for community-based club and $5 for university-based Rotaract Clubs. How does this help Rotary Clubs like Livingston Sunrise? In a few words, more energy and engagement in Rotary, with community service and fun being two hallmarks of this group. Rotaract Club members also can join a local Rotary Club, and have dual membership.
