CLUB MEETUP INFO
Samantha Brish introduces our guest speaker Kate Melcher, executive director of Fisher House Michigan in Ann Arbor, a non-profit charitable organization(formally known as Build It For The Brave) that works to provide housing to military and veteran families while their soldier is in a VA Hospital for surgery or long term treatment.

(It's very similar to what Ronald McDonald House provides for parents of children being treated at area hospitals.)

Captain Kate Melcher has had a wide and varied career, starting out with an internship at the United States Supreme Court as a researcher and speech writer with former Chief Justice William Rehnquist, moving on to be a senior aide to THREE U.S. Senators.

After 9/11 she enlisted in the United States Army and from 2005 - 2013 serving as an AH-64D Apache Longbow Helicopter Gunship pilot, and as a Legislative Liaison Officer for the US Army National Guard.

A Saline native, Kate moved back to Michigan in 2017 , and Gov. Rick Snyder named her the 2018 Veteran of the Year through the Michigan Fitness Foundation.

Lunch WENESDAYs Rotary Family in BRIGHTON
WEDNESDAYs in March, please join your fellow Rotarians for lunch at CHILI's in Brighton. We will gather at noon to talk about a variety of interesting topics and get to know one another a little bit better. [Your editor is easily confused. Remember Howell on Tuesdays on Odd months and Brighton on Wednesday on Even months. HOT-O, BOW-E.]

Come on out for some great food, good conversation (check the link above for menu choices...) and quality time with your Rotary extended family. Bring a spouse or co-worker as a no-pressure introduction to what makes Rotary so special.

There's room at the table for YOU, so mark your calendars NOW as a reminder for Lunch every WEDNESDAY in March.
