GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL !
THE WEEKEND always begins with Rotary!

Please click on the link above "Having trouble viewing this email?" to see the ENTIRE Bulletin.
Mike Murphy has opened the doors to the Livingston County Jail so we can meet in person. Well, not the jail exactly, but the big garage to the right of the general public main entrance at 150 S. Highlander Way, Howell.  Dress warmly.

HEADS UP:  Westbound Grand River Avenue between Downtown Howell and Highlander Way is currently closed.  Please choose a different route!

THE JAILHOUSE RULES
(for in-person meetings)
1.  Bring your own chair.
2.  Bring your own beverage.
3.  Bring your own breakfast.
4.  Bring your own MASK.
Dress warmly (check the weather). Please arrive between 7 am & 7:15 am! We will maintain the proper social distancing between rows, so this will be an extremely SAFE meeting. Technically it is an "outdoor" meeting space if we keep the garage doors open.

Place your chair along one of the rows, keeping six feet between rows. Maintain at least a foot or so between chairs, but do not speak directly face-to-face without wearing your mask. You know, to avoid spreading germs and viruses.

GREETERS
KRISTA DAVIES & ????

If you choose to accept this assignment, you will be our in-person GREETERS at the Livingston County Jail at 150 S. Highland Way, Howell. Be there by 7am!

Your duties are to greet members, guests and visiting Rotarians and make sure rows are set up appropriately for slide viewing.

Anyone reading this may volunteer. We need (2) persons. One to scan name badges and the other to greet and retrieve name badges.

Please inform the Bulletin Editor if you are unable to fulfill your duties, or find your own substitute!

UPDATE ON MIDCOURSE CORRECTION
Jessica Prima and Penny Murphy will give us an update on their work with MidCourse Correction, one of the previous recipients of funding from our annual fund-raiser, "Midnight in the Tropics."

A testimonial from a parent:

"No words could express how we felt coming home from Midcourse challenge Camp with our son. He always seemed to lack a sense of self-worth or self-confidence. He was smoking pot and lacked a sense of purpose, and he didn’t see the harm in the choices he was making.

"It was hard to watch and not know how to fix as parents. After we found out what he had been doing this summer, we signed him up after learning about MCCC through a friend who had sent two of his children with great results."

ROTARIANS-in-ACTION !
THE WALK TO END ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE
The collaborative effort between the Howell and Sunrise Rotary Clubs on the Walk to End Alzheimer's was a big success. This past Saturday, we had about fifteen walkers from both Clubs in a two mile stroll through downtown Howell!!

With donations already received and in the pipeline, we've raised $3,925 to continue research for a cure and to support families with loved ones afflicted with Alzheimer's. Donations still will be accepted through the end of the year. With the success of our collaboration between our Rotary Clubs, we realize there are areas in which we can continue to work together to support our community.

Thanks to everyone who supported our walk and contributions to put an END to Alzheimer's!!

HELP!  We need more pictures. If you have ANY photos of ANY Rotarians in Action, please send them to me at MLenninger@gmail.com with a brief description and identifying the people pictured. Deadline will be Mondays at NOON, so it can make it in that week's BULLETIN.
