Join us for tasty BREAKFAST treats, POSITIVE energy and HEARTS of service! Club business starts promptly at 7:30 am, with pledges, announcements, Fine Sheriff duties and HAPPY DOLLARS. A weekly talk ENRICHING our lives takes us to 8:30am.
Happy New Year! I'm sick of hearing that phrase already. Here's a good reply: So what's up with you in twenty twenty two? Join us each and almost every Friday for The Livingston Sunrise Rotary Club breakfast, held at the LESA building in Howell.
Socialization begins about 7:15 am.
The meeting rings in promptly at 7:30. Please help set up and help tear down. Bring someone to breakfast as a guest. Pay Madam Treasurer only $5. Do NOT pass Go, do NOT collect $150. Late? Cough up a buck to the Fine Sheriff.
BRING at least $5 for the 50/50 DRAWING. (The POT is at $975 and growing... there are about 7 cards left.) Exact change is appreciated! If you buy one set of tickets, the odds are less than 1 in 30 that your number will be called. (Assuming 25 buy one set of tickets.) Wouldn't you like to double the chances with a 1 to 15 odds? Just purchase two sets of tickets for $10. Or 4 sets for $20!
You have a better chance of picking the Ace of Hearts THIS WEEK! Play strategically! Will it come down to the last card again? All proceeds help pay for President's Night 2022.
If you cannot make it to a meeting in person, please join us via ZOOM and keep your VIDEO camera on so we can see your smiling face! [This means you Bobbie Terry as you putter around the kitchen getting your kiddies ready for school.]
If you do show up, remember the CDC has recommended that EVERYONE wear a mask INDOORS, even if you have been vaxxed AND boosted. This Omicron variant of CoViD-19 is so contagious, it has created many, many breakthrough infections, even with people who have had CoViD-19 before. Masks, however, are NOT mandatory, but highly encouraged for Rotary Club members and their guests. Feel free to social distance as well, and 12 feet apart is safer than six feet.
Greeters should arrive BY 7:15 AM and assist members to set up, hand out name badges, welcome guests and identify visiting Rotarians. Smile!

If you are unable to fulfill your bi-annual responsibility as an OFFICIAL GREETER when assigned, please let me know via email with "Rotary" in the subject line at least a week in advance. The week of our meeting, you are responsible for arranging your own replacement! MLenninger@gmail.com
The Second "Annual" LSRC Indoor Cornhole Tourney is in the works.Jim Watters and Linda Carey are working on this SOCIAL MIXER for the club slated to take place on April 29, 2022 at Aberrant Ales in Howell. Some members may recall the FUN the last time we met at the brewery. Come enjoy the camaraderie of fellow Rotarians as we have a little friendly competition playing corn-hole.
The cost of this event will be only $10 per person with the money being divided between a CHARITY and the winners. If you choose not to play, but still would like to come and hang out, your FULL $10 will go towards the charity and not be used for prizes. This game requires teams of two, you can either enter as a team or we will team you up with a partner. Come out and join us for some adult beverages, food and fun!! You don't have to be good, you just have to be able to TOSS A BEAN BAG.
Check Out the ClubRunner Calendar atwww.livingstonsunriserotary.orgfor ALL upcoming events, weekly activities, club business meetings, information about upcoming speakers and MORE! [HINT:all of the blue underlined words above are hotlinks for a website or email!]
Get to know your fellow Rotarians better. Join us this coming TUESDAYs in HOWELL for stimulating conversation, tidbits of inside information, good food, fun and fellowship outside of our regular Friday meetings. It's at Coratti's in Downtown Howell.
Invite your extended Rotary Family [aka spouses], friends or co-workers. This also is a great way to introduce them to our club and what makes LSRC so special! There simply isn't enough time at our weekly meetings to get to know one another better. SO, EACH ONE BRING ONE.
Our District Membership continues to grow. We've added 75+ new members in the first six months of our calendar year. Thank you for your continued support of our District Membership's “Each One Bring One” campaign. [Remember, guest meal tickets are just $5. Pay the lady!]
As we head into the latter half of the Rotary year, our District, our communities and the world will need your support more than ever. It is my hope that together, we will continue to Engage, Excite and most importantly HAVE FUN. I look forward to serving with all of you during the next six months of our Rotary year. "WooWoo"!!
Patricia Courtney writes: "It is my hope that our club will be able to continue the tradition of hosting one of our exchange students. We need your assistance in making this happen. We will need 2-3 good host families for the 2022-23 academic school year.
How about you? Or possibly you know someone who might enjoy this unique opportunity and experience? I'd love to talk to you more about it! Please catch me at club, email or give me a ring. I'd love to share my own experiences with you."
Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) has enjoyed a long and excellent reputation of creating life-changing opportunities for young people from around the world.
These students learn lifelong leadership skills, experience a new language and culture, build lasting friendships with other students from around the world and truly become global citizens. Students ages 15-19 exchange in more than 100 counties every year. Each of these students are supported both at home and abroad by local Rotary Clubs.
Our club has been so fortunate to have hosted several of these top notch students the past few years. Possibly you remember Daniela (Czech Republic), Lea (S. Korea), Vivi (Brazil) and most recently Gabby (Peru)[pictured above] andElias (Germany) [also pictured above]. [Please send them an encouraging email by clicking on their names to the left.] All of these extraordinary young people spent a full academic year with us and we were so blessed to know them. I’ve enjoyed hearing from them occasionally and how their experience on exchange has truly impacted their lives.
Gleaners needs us to help restock the personal care items they give to needy people and families. Tucked away in your bathroom closet, you must have some sample sizes of deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, shaving cream, little bars of soap, hand cream, shaving cream... you know, the stuff you'd pick up at hotels when you used to travel PRE CoViD-19. I don't know about you, but since I bought a Sonic toothbrush, I've been accumulating a ton free toothbrushes from my dentist for the last 10 years. Bring those!
If YOUR cupboard is bare, you also can pick up some sample sizes at your local grocery store, Meijers, CVS or Walgreens. Bring them to Friday's meeting and Terry Defina will collect them and give them to Gleaners.
PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD AND VOLUNTEER for COMMUNITY CONNECT
