If you do show up, remember the CDC has recommended that EVERYONE wear a mask INDOORS, even if you have had all your shots. [Did you know that even if you have been "FULLY VACCINATED" and/or have had CoViD ONCE, you still might catch it as a breakthrough infection AND unknowingly spread the virus to others?

Variant D of CoViD-19 is highly transmittable via the air. As infectious as the measles. Mask wearing is OPTIONAL for members, not a requirement. So MAKE GOOD CHOICES!

HELP KEEP OUR RIVERS CLEAN
As your District Governor or rather your CEO "Chief Encouragement Officer" for the 2021-2022 year I want to encouraged all clubs to review and consider planning a river cleanup event. It's part of the big RI Environmental Initiative.

World Rivers Day, September 26, 2021

This event is a global celebration of the world's waterways, observed every last Sunday in September.  Rivers in every country face an array of threats, and World Rivers Day promotes the active involvement of citizens to ensure the health of rivers in the years ahead.

Chatham Sunrise Rotary in Canada is already planning a cleanup event for their McGregor Creek .

Your club can learn more about the program at cleanwaterforliving.com and consider joining the efforts of the Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group (ESRAG)

WALK TO END ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE
Saturday Oct. 2 in BRIGHTON

   Howell and Livingston Sunrise Rotarians:

   Howell / Livingston Sunrise Rotarians:

In one short month - on Saturday, October 2 - the 2021 version of the Brighton Walk to End Alzheimer's will take place all across Livingston County - but centered in Brighton.  This year, the Rotary Clubs in Brighton, Fowlerville and Harland are comprising teams and will undoubtedly try to mirror our success of last year.  Each team has a goal of raising $2000 to help fight this awful disease.

Thus far, we have raised $900 or 45% toward our goal.  Brighton has raised $240 (12%) while Harland and Fowlerville Rotary Clubs are listening to the Carpenter's sing "We've Only Just Begun...".  We have a commanding lead in fundraising so far and don't want to become complacent!!

A huge THANK YOU to those that have already donated and/or signed up as a team member.  If you have yet to join our team - or make a donation to the combined efforts of the Howell and Livingston Sunrise Rotary Clubs, please do so by going to act.alz.org/goto/HowellSunriseRotary.  Any level contribution will help in research and to support families that are providing care for a loved one.

Details of our walk will be provided later!!

To register, our team page is located at http://act.alz.org/goto/HowellSunriseRotary.  I hope you'll be able to register and participate.  Any level of contribution will go far in combatting Alzheimer's!!

Kind Regards,
Nick

BRIGHTON COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE OCT. 5
Give blood, save lives. Make more. Repeat. It's that simple.

While the FDA says you can donate whole blood every 56 days (or up to 6 times in a year) that is a LOT to ask of someone.

Instead, consider donating the gift of life FOUR times a year, or quarterly. That’s every THREE months (or 3,000 miles). Do it once in the summer when supplies are drastically low, donate again around a major holiday when others are too busy. Then pick two other times that are convenient for you!
For example, donate Tuesday, Oct. 5th at The Brighton Light House from 11am to 6pm and then again in January near New Year’s Day; pick a convenient date in April or May, and then donate a 4th time in late July or anytime in August. We have 35 slots to fill!

Sign up here for an appointment: https://donate.michigan.versiti.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/137582    Or contact J. Michael Lenninger (click name for email) for more info!  Call or text: (810) 986-9320

If you are NOT getting the bulletin, or would like to add someone to our email list, please let the editor know!~
