THIS WEEK'S MEETING...
Steve Gronow will introduce us to his guest Gina Wessel who will teach us her Stress Relief Program. Gina and her husband Tim run Thrive Coaching & Consulting in Brighton. They have been have been married for 30+ years and have three young adult children. Both have had successful careers in business and in ministry and have leaned into their experiences to launch this coaching business. They are passionate about equipping parents to raise their kids to be leaders rather than followers in a world that threatens their unique faith and family values.
NEXT MONTH...
The two or three non-profit beneficiaries of Midnight in the Tropics 2023 will be voted upon by the membership on October 7th . THIS IS ONE MEETING YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS! Tim Williams as President of the LSRC Foundation will be releasing the list of potential beneficiaries beginning the week of October 2nd.
It is great to see our first three Jump Start Initiatives for this year starting to take shape, each in its own unique way! All we need to do now is keep up the momentum with enthusiasm, focus, and effort. By the end of this Rotary year [the fiscal year ends June 30, 2023] we will have made significant progress to grow the club through service, social opportunities, and a new Rotaract Club.
The fourth and final Jump Start Initiative is very exciting! The "New Horizons Group" is created for all of us who want to come together and explore Rotary. It will offer a fantastic way for new members to learn more about Rotary and get oriented to the club, as well as offer all of us the opportunity to look beyond the club level and discover the world of Rotary. And the really fun part... it can be designed to be anything you want it to be!
There were a lot of great ideas that emerged from the original discussions, but we'll need another meeting to give this initiative some legs and talk next steps. It is the perfect time to join in! I am hoping that many of our newer members will be interested in serving this initiative, as their perspectives are vital. Let me know if this initiative is calling YOU.
Last Rotary year was driven by goals set early on, in order to assist District 6380 and its members not only in 2021-2022, but in upcoming years.
The focus was to engage, excite and have fun - -WooWoo!!
LSRC stepped up to the challenge and worked together to set clear and measurable goals to obtain the Presidential Citation Award from RI President Shekhar Mehta.
The Rotary International Presidential Citation is the road map for Clubs listing 25 areas of achievements. The Rotary Citation awards recognize the hard work clubs do throughout the year. Taking action toward achieving the citation goals (13 out of 25) helps clubs engage their members, stay relevant in their communities, and run more efficiently.
Please find a copy of the award attached to this message, and thank you for your part in achieving this amazing goal for 2021/22! It was an honor to support our Rotary passion together. Well done!

& LSRC President 2021/22 Jamie Nicholson

Mark your calendars for the evening of Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Westin Book Cadillac building in Downtown Detroit.
THANK YOU for supporting Reaching Higher, the most effective program of its kind.

SEARCHING FOR A NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
EctoHR, Inc., is helping Livingston County Catholic Charities in the search for an Executive Director position. This is Mark Robinson's (current LSRC member) position and he will be retiring next year. I spoke with Mark and he agreed this would be good to get out into the community through Rotary. Heather Aeschliman is on Howell Rotary and is sitting on the search committee as well.
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association® to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
