As infectious as the measles. While breakthrough infections are relatively rare, with milder symptoms, you still can spread the virus to those not fully inoculated. Mask wearing is OPTIONAL for members, not a requirement.
Greeters should arrive no later than 7:15 AM and assist members with name badges, welcoming guests and identifying visiting Rotarians and visitors.

HELP KEEP OUR RIVERS CLEAN
As your District Governor or rather your CEO "Chief Encouragement Officer" for the 2021-2022 year I want to encouraged all clubs to review and consider planning a river cleanup event. It's part of the big RI Environmental Initiative.
This event is a global celebration of the world's waterways, observed every last Sunday in September. Rivers in every country face an array of threats, and World Rivers Day promotes the active involvement of citizens to ensure the health of rivers in the years ahead.
Chatham Sunrise Rotary in Canada is already planning a cleanup event for their McGregor Creek .
Your club can learn more about the program at cleanwaterforliving.com and consider joining the efforts of theEnvironmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group (ESRAG)
For more info: Contact John Lawrence, Chair with the Rotary Club of Chatham Sunrise john40lawrence@gmail.com 1 519-351-9397
Their goal is to act as a resource for District clubs on all Rotary peace related topics and to have all clubs engage and be involved. It is also their mission to assist clubs in putting Rotary’s core value of peacebuilding into action by:
☮ Keeping clubs informed of Rotary peace initiatives;
☮ Working with clubs to identify peacebuilding initiatives, both locally and internationally;
☮ Providing educational opportunities on peacebuilding for interested clubs;
☮ Working with clubs to identify potential Rotary Peace Fellow candidates.
Along with the newly formed District Peace Committee, mark your calendars to get involved and attend the upcoming:
Multi-District Peace Conference
Michigan League in Ann Arbor
March 11, 12, 2022

We've all known someone, a family member or friend, that has been touched in some way by Alzheimer's. The Walk to End Alzheimer's, is a national effort to raise funds for research and awareness for the disease, along with support for families and care givers directly affected by it.
As we did last year, the Howell and Livingston Sunrise Rotary Clubs are teaming up to do our share in battling this dreaded disease. Last year, I'm extremely proud to report that we raised more than $4,000. Once again, the Howell Rotary Club is making a donation of $500 toward the effort. [Do I hear a challenge Sunrise Rotarians?] This year's Walk to End Alzheimer's will be on Saturday, October 2, and be centered in Brighton. I understand that walks can also take place anywhere in Livingston County. We can decide later whether to meet in Brighton, Howell or some other location for our Walk To End Alzheimer's.
To register, our team page is located at http://act.alz.org/goto/HowellSunriseRotary. I hope you'll be able to register and participate. Any level of contribution will go far in combatting Alzheimer's!!
Kind Regards,
Nick
BRIGHTON COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE OCT. 5
Give blood, save lives. Make more. Repeat. It's that simple.
While the FDA says you can donate whole blood every 56 days (or up to 6 times in a year) that is a LOT to ask of someone.
Instead, consider donating the gift of life FOUR times a year, or quarterly. That’s every THREE months (or 3,000 miles). Do it once in the summer when supplies are drastically low, donate again around a major holiday when others are too busy. Then pick two other times that are convenient for you!
For example, donate Tuesday, Oct. 5th at The Brighton Light House from 11am to 6pm and then again in January near New Year’s Day; pick a convenient date in April or May, and then donate a 4th time in late July or anytime in August. We have 35 slots to fill!
You can enjoy a meal with local Rotarians every day of the week:
Monday - Lunch - Howellat Howell Board of Education Room at the Administration Building (on Highlander Way)
Tuesday - Lunch - Brightonat the Brighton Community Building (aka the Boy Scout Building)
Tuesday - Lunch - Lyon Area at Abbey Park at Mill River...off Milford Road, south of I-96, across from Coyote Golf Club
Wednesday - Lunch - Fowlerville at First United Methodist Church on 2nd Street
Thursday - Breakfast - Hartland Rotary Club, at the Hartland Insurance Agency (Old US 23, just north of M 59).
Thursday - Lunch - Novi at Suburban Collection Showcase
- NOON - Milford Rotary Club, Bakers at Milford, 2925 S. Milford Road
Take the opportunity to see other clubs, meet other Rotarians and see how they do things. These count as "Make Up" meetings if you can't attend your regular weekly club meeting.
