The meeting rings in promptly at 7:30. Please help set up and help tear down. Bring someone to breakfast as a guest. Pay Madam Treasurer only $5. Do NOT pass Go, do NOT collect $150. Late? Cough up a buck to the Fine Sheriff.
BRING at least $5 for the 50/50 DRAWING. (The POT is at $440+ and growing... there are about 21 cards are left.) Exact change is appreciated! If you buy one set of tickets, the odds are about 1 in 20 your number will be called. But buy TWO sets of tickets, the odds drop to a 1 in 10 chance! You have a similar chance of picking the Ace of Hearts - a one in 21 chance this week. Play strategically!
If you cannot make it to a meeting in person, please join us via ZOOM and keep your VIDEO camera on so we can see your smiling face!
If you do show up, remember the CDC has recommended that EVERYONE wear a mask INDOORS, even if you have had all your shots. Masks are NOT required by Rotary Club members and their guests.
Greeters should arrive BEFORE 7:15 AM and assist members with name badges, welcoming guests and identifying guests and visiting Rotarians. Smile!

LSRC Past President and Past District Governor Jim Gilmore appointed me as Fine Sheriff during his most recent presidency. I was sure it was a mistake when I saw my name on the slate. Nope. One favorite moment during my time in that position was when I was issuing a fine to Mike Murphy. He stood up, TOWERING over me, and I responded with AUTHORITY, by standing on a chair, so that I had the height advantage. Not to be outdone, Murphy stood on his OWN chair! [What was YOUR favorite "fine" moment? Mine is when Murph said something about getting into someone's shirt... although he did not mean it that way. The Sheriff can blush!]

HOWELL ROTARIAN HONORED FOR 66 YEARS OF SERVICE
When Harold Griffith joined the Howell Rotary in 1955, Dwight D. Eisenhower was president of the United States. NO women were members of Rotary International.
Harry, age 91, was greeted by family and friends at the Howell Rotary Club's weekly meeting this past Monday. According to a report on WHMI.com:
Harry’s daughter and fellow Howell Rotarian, Livingston County Commissioner Carol Griffith, who represents the third generation of the family to belong to the organization as Harry’s father-in-law, Harold Crandall, was also a member. Carol Griffith said that service was just part of the family. "It was. I think he really wears 'service above self' on his sleeve and it was something we just kind of followed in his footsteps in and we appreciated how to give back to the community and that all come, probably from a family tradition that began with my grandfather and my dad." Harry’s son, Scott Griffith, is a member and Past President of the Brighton Rotary and was also present.
Heads up, people, buy an extra turkey (small) if you are shopping for Thanksgiving. Meijer has their store brand turkey on sale for 33 cents per pound.
Our mission, should you choose to accept it, is to support the Gleaners Food Warehouse here in Livingston County at our Nov. 19th meet-up. Gleaners specifically seeks canned vegetables, canned soup and turkeys. [If all they have are hefty 20-pounders, ask the butcher to slice it in half!]
You might be able to find other deals before the 19th, but this is a good opportunity.

HELP SUPPORT GLEANERS, NON-PROFITS ON NOV 19th
Mark Robinson fills us in on what the Nov. 19th meeting is all about:
"Team Give a Hoot" and the Membership Committee have teamed up to include some fun and community contribution for our November 19th Member Meeting.
First, our members who are directly involved with non-profit or government service delivery will take 1-2 minutes to provide us with an update of each respective organization. We strongly encourage member attendance to support these groups that contribute to the well-being of our local community.
Second, we ask each attending member to bring a food item(s) to share with our localGleaners Community Food Bank. Gleaners is specifically asking for: canned vegetables, canned soup and small frozen turkeys. Rob Johnson has offered to deliver the donated items to Gleaners on the same day. Maybe our generosity will be so great that one or more of us will need to assist him.
November 19th will be a good day for us to learn about several organizations and to provide direct assistance to one of them. If you would like to speak about your organization, please let President Jamie, Jessica Grima or myself know so that we can plan the program and the available speaking time.
