LSRC members come together en force to drum up support for our club's renowned annual fundraiser, 🌴Midnight in the Tropics. Whether the contributions are financial, material or service-oriented, this county GIVES to LSRC. It starts with THE ASK, which takes time, energy and effort. Club resources are plentiful when it comes to letter templates, past donors, ideas to approach and experienced salespersons. Team up! Harvey Larson and I worked together for several years with a successful routine where he was the MAN ON THE STREET, while I prepared local businesses for his visits with phone calls. Just ask, and I will show you my SPREADSHEET. [There are about 24 slots left to fill for MITT roles. Please find one you like and sign up!]

Get to know your fellow Rotarians better. Join us this coming TUESDAY in Howell for stimulating conversation, tidbits of inside information, good food [and drink, but who's judging?] fun and fellowship outside our regular Friday meetings. It's Tuesday Nov. 12, at noon, at Corraiti's Pizzeria and Bocce Ball.
Warmest Regards, Tom Archer
p.s. For those who arrive EARLY, please reserve a couple of tables for about 8 people. If the patio is warm, sit on the back bench.
Invite your extended Rotary Family (aka spouses), friends or co-workers. This also is a great way to introduce them to our club and what makes LSRC so special! There simply isn't enough time at our weekly meetings to get to know one another better. SO, EACH ONE BRING ONE.
November 9: District 6380 and 6400 Foundation+Membership Celebration Event: Let’s celebrate with a special event dedicated to our Rotary Foundation and Newer Members. Rotary International President Elect Jennifer Jones and PolioPlusDirector Michael McGovern will emcee this evening of fundraising, auctions and new member recognition. Attend the Gala, become a Sponsor, share a moment with our guest speakers in the VIP room and much, much more! Register Here: Foundation + Membership Gala
All hands on deck! We need your support for Midnight in the Tropics, our biggest annual fund-raiser for charities we select.
Let's make this the best MITT ever. Best MITT ever to me, means more of us getting involved than ever before. Let us do the best we can and I promise we'll will be proud. Dollar amounts are great but engagement and involvement in the good is so much more.
As we all know our beneficiaries have been chosen! They are Reaching Higher Inc. and Special Ministries, a part of Livingston County Catholic Charities.
Our very own Sherriff Mike Murphy was kind enough to email a couple of leave behind documents which explain our MITT cause. Jim Watters put one of these documents together which shows all the monies we've donated to which organizations. This is a SUPER AMAZING and effective tool to use when approaching your peeps. Thank you Jim. Mike put the appeal letter together. Straight up to the point and perfect to leave with those you approach.
Please, all of you, use the attached forms in your email from 10-21-2021 from John Scotta, keep copies on you at all times, hand them out, email them and ask ask ask and ask again for support. We are powerful in our community and we are respected for what we do for our neighbors in need. Some might feel awkward, some might feel timid or scared to ask. Don't, you have this club army behind you and you are a Rotarian with a mission. Who could deny your request or not listen to our plea? You are a Rotarian and together our mission to to better the lives of our neighbors in need.
Please make this a priority. No one or two people can do this alone. We need everyone to pursue sponsorships, donations, auction items, services, and destination adventures. This is not selling. This is a humanitarian effort that will help hundreds of our local seniors and children in need of services and support.
If you are a past MITT committee member or chair, please lend a helping hand to those of us who are new to throwing this party. We need you to keep us on the path to greatness.

The more volunteers the faster this will be done. Please send me an email, call or text me if you can help. John John R Scotta Director of Services Projects 248-535-7466

The Rotary Foundation’s mission is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, good will and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education and the alleviation of poverty. We have the ability to come together and make a huge impact. Our Foundation is very unique in the way that it is structured. The money that is given to the annual fund this year is invested for three years and will come back to the District in the form of District Designated Funds. This is how our District Grants are funded

Mark Robinson fills us in on what the Nov. 19th meeting is all about:
"Team Give a Hoot" and the Membership Committee have teamed up to include some fun and community contribution for our November 19th Member Meeting.
First, our members who are directly involved with non-profit or government service delivery will take 1-2 minutes to provide us with an update of each respective organization. We strongly encourage member attendance to support these groups that contribute to the well-being of our local community.
Second, we ask each attending member to bring a food item(s) to share with our localGleaners Food Bank. Gleaners is specifically asking for: canned vegetables, canned soup and small frozen turkeys. Rob Johnson has offered to deliver the donated items to Gleaners on the same day. Maybe our generosity will be so great that one or more of us will need to assist him.
November 19th will be a good day for us to learn about several organizations and to provide direct assistance to one of them. If you would like to speak about your organization, please let President Jamie, Jessica Grima or myself know so that we can plan the program and the available speaking time.
In advance, I say THANK YOU for your participation and your generosity.
Mark
