You've heard the President's State of the Union address. You've heard that Gov. Gretchen Whitmore of Michigan gave the opposition party response. Now listen to LSRC President Jim Gilmore give us his State of the Club address. [There will be no rebuttal from the Kiwanis Club.]

(By the way, the 50/50 drawing is now up to... $80+ with a brand new deck, less six cards.)

Livingston County Rotary Foundation update
Every month, board members of the Livingston Sunrise Rotary Foundation award mini-grants to various local charitable organizations. In January the group voted to award $1,500 to the Livingston County Truancy Task Force so they could expand the “Pathways to Potential” Project (P2P) into Pinckney elementary schools.

For more information on the P2P Project, please see Dianne McCormick or Rebecka Graham (M-36 Rotary Club).

All club members are invited to attend any, or all, of the upcoming board meetings of the Foundation. The next meeting will be Monday, Feb. 20 at 7:30 am at the IHOP in Brighton.

[Readership Response Contest. Winner-Winner! No chicken dinner, but the first person who TEXTS me at 810-986-9320 with the phrase that pays or greets me with these words on Friday wins:  "30 Days Has September..."]
Photos Out of Africa

Our German exchange student shared these photos with us. This is Elias Stich (center) at the VOSH/International mission trip. Standing next to him is a man from the local Parliament as they tour Our Lady of Fatima Primary School.

To the right, Elias is handing out soccer balls (generously provided and decorated by LSRC members) to schoolchildren. VOSH/Int'l stands for Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity/International.

Children are touching Elias' arms to find out if it feels different from their own skin.

Below, the children begin a soccer game. There are approximately 2,500 kids at this primary school.
