Livingston Sunrise Rotary Foundation announces their 2009 Scholarship awards.

This year's Donald P. Pobuda Memorial scholarship competition was very tough and very rewarding competition; with 34 applicants representing all county school districts.  The Pobuda Scholarship is a $1000 scholarship and is renewable for three additional years.  The Foundation is honored to present to our Community this year's Donald P. Pobuda Memorial Scholarships, awarded to two young women who have overcome substantial challenges in order to excel and graduate from high school.  The scholarship criteria includes having significant obstacles (health, life, or otherwise) to overcome; being of service to one's community; and remarkable job experience and/or extra curricular activities.

The 2009 recipients were recognized at the club's annual President's Night Dinner and the awards were presented to Meghan Banfield (Howell High School graduate) and Sarah Cromer (Brighton High School graduate).

This year the Foundation also presented a $500 Foundation general scholarship to Kaitlin Donohue, a Pinckney High School graduate.  Kaitlin was also recognized for her ability to overcome obstacles to reach her goals and her service to the community.
