What is Literacy?

Literacy is defined as being able to read and write, or to having knowledge about a specific subject.
When you read, this an example of literacy. When you are familiar with math, this is an example of
literacy in mathematics. It is a process of understanding by which one expands one’s knowledge in
order to develop one’s thinking and learning for the purpose of understanding oneself and the
world.
 
The process is fundamental to achieve success in one’s life.
