LSRC Foundation distributes $80,000+
Your LSRC Foundation Board met virtually on March 30. All LSRC members are encouraged to attend future meetings listed below.
The net revenue from Midnight in the Tropics fundraiser was $107,774.
The Board approved $25,000 each to The Connection Youth Services and Mentor Livingston, the club-designated beneficiaries. Dates and location for the 2021 event, if it continues, are being debated by the Club Board.
The Board award a local grant of $1,000 to the Guatemala Literacy Project. They also are seeking matching funds from District 6380 and from Rotary International Foundation for a total of $3,000, if awarded. GLP is one of the largest grassroots, multi-club, multi-district projects in Rotary.
More than 600 clubs and 80 districts have been working together since 1997 to improve education for underserved students in Guatemala. In that time, nearly 225,500 students have been served through four sustainable programs that are tested and proven to work
The Challenger Elementary Summer Reading Program received a local request of $2,500 to keep kids reading over the summer.
